Three Arch Bay
At the end of South Laguna sits Three Arch Bay, a prestigious community with history and beauty all around. As the name suggests, Three Arch Bay is known for its steep cliffs and the natural three arches nestled in Whale Rock. Development started in 1924 and by 1927 a tract office was erected. Although years went by, it wasn’t until actor and real estate developer, Hallam Cooley purchased the Three Arch Bay property and started to make improvements to the tract. In fact, Three Arch Bay was “one of the largest improvement programs on the Orange County Coast.” Although the Great Depression hindered progression across the country, Cooley took advantage of the unique coastline, touring wealthy individuals who had the opportunity to invest in the community.
