ALTA VISTA

Alta Vista is a neighborhood located south of Woods Cove and just above Victoria Beach. With exceptional perspectives of the ocean and an overview of the town, many artists parked their studios in Alta Vista to observe and paint the beautiful landscape. Artists such as Karl Yens, Thomas Hunt and Basel Engel parked their studios in Alta Vista. Although originally perched on a seaside cliff, Frank Cuprien’s ‘Viking Studio’ home was relocated but still stands today in Alta Vista.
